Cookies and device storage

What this page covers
Track Diploma uses cookies and browser storage to keep your account working, remember choices, and hold some work on your device. Product analytics may also use browser storage when analytics is configured. This page describes the current app code; our Privacy Policy explains how we use account information more broadly.
Account and recovery cookies
Supabase authentication uses cookies to maintain and refresh your signed-in session. Track Diploma also sets a short-lived recovery marker after a valid password-reset link (up to 15 minutes). If saving an onboarding or walkthrough completion fails, a temporary bypass cookie lets you continue for up to 30 minutes. These cookies support the account flows you request.
Appearance preference
When you choose a theme in Settings, the td_theme cookie remembers that choice for up to one year. You can change the theme again in Settings.
Drafts and activity on this device
The app uses browser session storage for some unsent drafts and retry state, including Universal Add and Ask Track. It uses local storage for some writing drafts, study timers, notification deduplication, and referral or analytics identifiers. Session storage normally lasts for the tab session; local storage remains until removed by the app or browser. Clearing it can remove unsaved drafts or reset device-specific preferences.
Product analytics
When configured, PostHog records selected page views and product actions to help us understand how Track Diploma is used. Its browser library may store an identifier on your device. The current app disables automatic click capture, session recording, heatmaps, surveys, and automatic exception capture. The app does not currently provide an in-app analytics preference control.
Your controls and questions
You can clear or block cookies and device storage in your browser, although doing so may sign you out or remove local drafts. You can change your theme in Settings. For questions about analytics or data use, contact support@trackdiploma.com.
